Welcome to our complete walkthrough and achievement guide for Moomintroll: Winter's Warmth.
This guide is designed to help you progress through the game while unlocking all achievements.

Things to Keep in Mind for 100% Completion
If you just want to beat the game, simply follow the main objectives. It takes about 4 to 5 hours to clear.
If you are aiming for 100% completion, keep the following in mind as you play:
- Collect all 25 vase pieces.
- Collect all letters.
- Hit everyone with a snowball.
- Upgrade all tools.
A 100% completion run takes about 5 to 6 hours. However, missing certain things might require you to restart the game from the beginning.
Opening to the Bonfire Site
Follow the main objectives to progress.
Examine the vase in the room where Moominpappa and Moominmamma are sleeping to start the quest to collect 25 vase pieces.
There is a vase piece (1/25) on the table in the next room.
Go to the attic for a vase piece (2/25).
Head to the Bathing-House.
Open the closet to look for mittens; you will find a vase piece (3/25) inside.
Once you can throw snowballs, throw one at Too-Ticky.
*If you are aiming for 100% completion, be sure to throw a snowball at every new character you meet from now on.
On your way to the Bonfire Site, head right from the Moominhouse, then slightly up and right. You will see something sparkling inside a fallen tree. Use a match to get it, which yields a vase piece (4/25).
Go to the Bonfire Site and listen to Too-Ticky.
Head right from the bonfire to find and talk to a Winter Being.
*If aiming for 100% completion, throw a snowball at every new Winter Being you encounter just to be safe.
Go further down and talk to the Winter Being on the left, then light the nearby torch.
Fillyjonk's House
On the way to Fillyjonk's house, talk to the Winter Being near the Moominhouse.
Try to head south and you will get into a snowball fight with Little My.
Once you get the shovel, shovel the snow near the southern bridge and take the letter from the mailbox.
Go to Fillyjonk's house. Throw a snowball at Fillyjonk, then talk to her.
After helping Fillyjonk, shovel the snow to the left of her house to find firewood. Shovel the snow to the upper left to find firewood and a vase piece (5/25).
Shovel to the lower left and walk over the mound of snow outside the fence to get 2 pieces of firewood.
*We won't list every single piece of firewood, but make sure to shovel everywhere possible and walk over any snow mounds you see.
On your way back to the Moominhouse, grab the letter from the mailbox.
Throw snowballs at Fillyjonk's three children outside.
Follow the main objectives for a while, mainly shoveling snow around the house. During this, throw a snowball at Misabel outside (if you forget, there will be other chances).
When tasked with finding the silver tray, go outside through the window and follow the footprints.
The Mountain & Upgrading Mittens
Shovel snow near the large block of ice to find a Winter Being and talk to them.
You can't proceed in Little My's direction, so head north and take a detour to move forward.
Hit the bird along the way with a snowball to get a vase piece (6/25).
Cross the narrow path ahead, then another one, and talk to the hiding Winter Being.
Follow the footprints. When you see Little My, take the path without footprints at the fork and throw a snowball at the snow mound on the cliff for some firewood.
*Snow mounds like this often contain firewood, so throw snowballs at them whenever you see them. They are common not only on the main path but also in dead ends and side routes.
Follow the footprints and use the rope to reach the top of the Mountain.
Continue while picking up firewood. After climbing a rope, you'll see a tree that looks like it can be chopped down, but you can't do it yet.
Talk to Little My just ahead, then throw a snowball at the Hemulen.
Head right from the Hemulen and talk to the Winter Being.
Climb down, talk to Little My and the Hemulen, and look for sticks.
Shovel snow to the lower left of their position for one stick. Head to the next area from there and throw a snowball at the snow mound on the cliff for another.
After the conversation about skis, use the rope on the bottom right to head back.
Return to the Moominhouse. Get the powder blush and jewelry box key in the bathroom, the necklace from the box on the second floor, and the dress in the attic.
Pick up the three letters to Misabel dropped in the attic.
After the series of conversations, you will receive yarn.
Go outside and check the mailbox for a letter from Too-Ticky.
Talk to Too-Ticky at the Bathing-House to upgrade your mittens.
Go to the frozen water to the right of Too-Ticky and pick up the letter. Talk to the Winter Being to the left of there.
You don't need to enter the Cave you saw along the way just yet.
The Pond & Getting the Axe
Check your map and head toward the Pond at the bottom.
Proceed for a bit and light the bonfire along the way.
Keep going, and you will spot a Winter Being. Throw a snowball at them.
At the camp, throw a snowball at Joxter.
*There are very few chances to throw a snowball at Joxter, so do it right away.
In the area with nuts, there is a vase piece (7/25) inside a fallen tree to the north. Use a match to light the tree and collect the piece.
After the Joxter's quest, you are supposed to chase Little My down the southern rope, but head toward the frozen Pond first. Talk to the Winter Being there. You can clear this immediately by destroying the 5 snowmen in the area with snowballs.
From there, dash through the snow on the west to enter the next area. Cross the icicles, throw a snowball at the Winter Being, and talk to them. Light the bonfire to finish this and receive a vase piece (8/25).
Return to the camp and proceed down the southern rope.
In the area where you have a snowball fight with Little My, there is a bird to the southwest. Hit it with a snowball for a vase piece (9/25).
Head to the east side of this same area to find a frozen Winter Being.
After returning to the Moominhouse, go to the Bathing-House and retrieve the lunch box.
Once you get the axe, chop down all the fallen trees around the Bathing-House.
Chop the tree to the left of the Winter Being by the frozen water to find a vase piece (10/25). After clearing all the trees at the Bathing-House, talk to Too-Ticky for another vase piece (11/25).
Return to the Moominhouse.
The Forest & Upgrading the Axe
Head into the forest to search for Fillyjonk's children.
Light the torch in the area where you played the firewood search game with Little My.
Find the first of Fillyjonk's children in the next area and light the torch there.
In the area after that, go down the rope, shovel snow to open the path, and hit the bird with a snowball to get a vase piece (12/25). Light the nearby torch.
Go back up, proceed forward, rescue the second of Fillyjonk's children, and keep going.
Find the third child in the next area.
Hit the bird with a snowball to get a Diary.
Take the path going diagonally up from where the bird is to the next area, and talk to the Winter Being. Light the torch in the back.
Return to the area where you found the third child, head diagonally down-left to the next area, and return to the Bonfire Site.
Now that you've lit all 5 torches, talk to the Winter Being at the Bonfire Site to complete their request.
Talk to Fillyjonk's children at the Bonfire Site, then head in the direction the dog went.
Rescue the dog (Sorry-oo). Throw a snowball at Sorry-oo at some point.
Take Sorry-oo back to the Moominhouse, listen to the story about the Cave, and receive the whetstone.
Talk to Fillyjonk's children in the Moominhouse, get the puzzle piece from the attic, and talk to them again for a vase piece (13/25).
Break the wooden crate in the Moominhouse cellar with your axe to get a vase piece (14/25).
Stop by Fillyjonk's house on the way to the Bathing-House. Chop the tree to the north and shovel the snow to get scrap metal.
Chop the tree to the southwest of the crossroads to enter the Bathing-House area.
Talk to Too-Ticky at the Bathing-House to upgrade your axe with the whetstone and your shovel with the scrap metal.
Break the block of ice by the water to the bottom right of Too-Ticky to get a message in a bottle.
Hand the message bottle to the Winter Being further to the left to get a vase piece (15/25).
The Cave
Before entering the Cave, throw a snowball at the mouse near the entrance and talk to it. Also, light the candle to the right of the Cave.
Enter the Cave, head right to light the candle, go down the rope, and find an oil lamp in the hole on the left.
Go up from the Cave entrance and light the candle.
Head left from the Cave entrance, light the candle, and break the ice block to find a vase piece (16/25).
Light the candle, cross the bridge, and light another candle near where you saw Shadow. First, proceed to the right area and light the candle there.
Go back and head to the left area to find herbs. From there, go up and right for a vase piece (17/25). Light the candle before moving to the next area.
Light the candle, break the ice block, light the candle past it, and break the next ice block for some herbs.
Head to the right area from there to find a Cave Mushroom.
Make a snowball in the Cave Mushroom area, go back to the previous area, and break the icicles to the upper left to find a mouse child (1/3). Light the candle, return to the previous area, and move forward.
Cross the bridge and shovel snow for herbs. Light the candle and go to the next area.
Pick up the herbs and you will see Shadow. Head right, light the candle, but before going further right, head up into the next area to get a vase piece (18/25). Go back and proceed to the next area.
Light the candle. Once you see Shadow go up, light the candle nearby. Dash through the snow to the bottom right to find a Winter Being. Talk to them for a vase piece (19/25). Go further right, light the candle, and find another mouse child (2/3) in the back.
Proceed to the next area, light the two candles, and talk to Shadow.
Go to the right from the area where you talked to Shadow to find the last mouse child (3/3). Break the wooden crate to the right of it for a vase piece (20/25).
Take the path near Shadow to return to the Moominhouse and follow the objectives.
*You can do this later when you go to talk to Too-Ticky, but approaching the mother mouse at the Cave entrance will complete her quest. If you are aiming for 100% completion, be sure to throw snowballs at the mouse children before getting too close to the mother.
(Hitting one mouse child with a snowball should be enough, but hit all three if you want to be safe.)
Wolf Clearing to the Bathing-House
Check your map and head toward the Wolf Clearing.
Light any candles you come across while traveling with Sorry-oo.
When Sorry-oo is moving across the platforms, go grab the vase piece (21/25) located along the way.
After returning to the Moominhouse, head outside and help Shadow and Sorry-oo to get a vase piece (22/25). Throw a snowball at Shadow.
Talk to Too-Ticky at the Bathing-House.
Upgrade your matches with the oil lamp. This completes all tool upgrades.
If you don't have 125 pieces of firewood yet, collect them while finishing up side quests (see below).
The story will progress once you go to the Bonfire Site with 125 pieces of firewood.
Go to the Mountain and help the Hemulen. After this, you will be able to light the Great Winter Bonfire. However, lighting it will lock you out of side quests, so make sure to wrap up any remaining side quests or collectibles first.
Finishing Remaining Side Quests
Give the Cave Mushroom to the Winter Being at the Bonfire Site for a vase piece (23/25).
Chop the tree to the top left of the Moominhouse, go to the Mountain, and take the rope to the summit. Pick up the letter.
Head right from the letter, give the Diary to the Winter Being, and fulfill their request for a vase piece (24/25).
Head up and left from the base of the Mountain, chop the tree near the Winter Being, slide down, and shovel snow to find another Winter Being.
Go to the Pond at the bottom and help the Winter Being trapped in the ice.
In the same area, look to the bottom left of the rope leading up to find a letter.
Move to the forest, head all the way to the right, and find a letter where you rescued the second of Fillyjonk's children.
Go to the Cave, enter and head right, and find a letter at the bottom of the rope.
Check the mailbox at the Moominhouse to get a vase piece (25/25).
Check the mailbox for a letter from Mabel (if it's not there now, it might appear just before you light the Great Winter Bonfire).
Once you have collected all 25 vase pieces, examine the broken vase in the Moominhouse to fix Moominmamma's vase.
Endgame
If you have nothing left to do, light the Great Winter Bonfire.
During the party, throw a snowball at the Ancestor. If there's anyone else you forgot to hit, do it now.
If you're unsure, just throw snowballs at any Winter Beings randomly.
Hit the top of the tree near the Hemulen with a snowball to make the horn drop.
After the party, when you go to meet Too-Ticky, check the mailbox for a letter from a Winter Being.
After meeting Too-Ticky and changing locations, throw a snowball at the Squirrel.
*You can throw a snowball at the Squirrel when you see them and Too-Ticky through the gap.
Proceed to the end of the story.
After clearing the game, you can load your save from right before lighting the Great Winter Bonfire.
Achievement Details
Here are the details if you want to check specific achievements.
Moominmamma's Favorite (Vase Pieces)
Collect all 25 vase pieces and fix the broken vase in the Moominhouse.
You can get them by picking them up off the ground, hitting birds with snowballs, and clearing side quests.
An easily missed quest is finding the puzzle piece for Fillyjonk's children. Talk to them after returning from the forest.
Don't forget to break the wooden crate in the Moominhouse cellar once you get the axe.
Currently, side quests like the puzzle piece one become unavailable once the characters move to the Bonfire Site.
According to official support, being locked out from side quests in the endgame would be fixed in a future patch.
Great Shot
Hit the following characters with a snowball:
- Winter Beings (Not sure if one or all are required)
- Too-Ticky
- Little My
- Fillyjonk
- Fillyjonk's 3 children
- Misabel
- Hemulen
- Joxter
- Sorry-oo
- Shadow
- Mother mouse
- 3 mouse children
- The Ancestor
- Squirrel (after the party)
The window to throw snowballs at Joxter, the mother mouse, the mouse children, and the Squirrel is limited.
If you forget, you can hit the Squirrel by loading your cleared save data, but missing Joxter or the mice will require you to play from the beginning.
My achievement unlocked on my second playthrough when I hit the first mouse child, so it seems you don't need to do it all in a single save file.
All Fired Up
Light all bonfires.
There are three: the bonfire on the path to the Pond before meeting Joxter, the bonfire near the Winter Being at the Pond, and the Great Winter Bonfire.
Spelunker
Light all candles in the Cave.

You've Got Mail!
Find all letters.
This includes letters obtained from side quests, the letters in the attic, and those that arrive in the mailbox.
Check the mailbox frequently right from the start of the game.
The final letter is obtained after the party.
Snufkin Would Be Proud
This unlocks once you get all other achievements.
There was a bug at launch where it wouldn't unlock even if the conditions were met, but it was fixed in the May 5, 2026 patch.
