How to Heal Enuo EX: Astrologian Strategy & Tips [FFXIV Patch 7.5]

FFXIV Enuo EX Guide

My personal strategy notes for The Unmaking Extreme (Enuo EX).

I wrote this to jog my memory for when I farm it later with a higher item level (ilvl).

Positioning and healwork are from the perspective of an Astrologian (H1) at ilvl 785+. I've cleared a few times on Scholar too, so there are occasional SCH notes.

General Tips

The absolute most important thing for healers in Enuo EX is not messing up the orb bait positions in the second phase.

FFXIV Enuo EX Guide

Since 90% of Tanks and DPS think "just follow the healers and we're good" (in my opinion), a healer messing up can easily half-wipe the party. I can't even count how many DPS I've killed this way...

Because of the heavy raid-wide damage, Earthly Star and Horoscope rarely go to waste, which feels incredibly satisfying as an AST.

Below is mainly my AST healwork, but I fill in any gaps with leftover abilities and GCD heals.

Phase 1

● Pre-pull

  • Place Earthly Star at 4 seconds on the countdown. Drop it on cooldown after that.
  • If the co-healer is an AST, the SCH probably only needs to cast Concitation.

● Meteorain

  • Heal with Earthly Star detonation.
  • SCH: Sacred Soil.

● Naught Grows

  • If the outer edge is ◯, go to the opposite side of ◯. If it's ◎, get close to ◎.
  • When there are 2 tethers, H1 looks at the boss and goes to the left side of the safe spot. It's smoother for the second phase if you get used to thinking "left side of the safe spot relative to the arrow pointing outwards."
  • During the boss's cast, use Collective Unconscious.

● Naught Wakes & Meltdown

  • While waiting in the center, use Neutral Sect + Horoscope + Helios Conjunction, and Lightspeed.
  • SCH can use Recitation + Deployment Tactics (Spread Adlo) here instead of in the opener.
  • Make sure to run away immediately after the debuff expires, or you'll die.

● Airy / Dense Emptiness

  • If anyone in the D1/D4/H1/H2 groups dies during Meltdown, tossing mitigation or a shield on their partner increases the survival rate.
  • Using Sun Sign near the end of the Wave cast will cover the next Naught Grows.
  • Heal with Horoscope or Celestial Opposition.

● Naught Grows

  • Heal with Earthly Star.

● Gaze of the Void

  • SCH: Expedient when movement starts.
  • Move using Lightspeed. The large orb for the tank spawns just beyond the last cone AoE.
  • Pop Macrocosmos while moving to your spot → take the yellow orb → confirm all purple orbs are gone, then trigger Microcosmos.
  • You will die if you take a double hit from adjacent orbs. If the timing overlaps, get hit on the outside edge rather than between the orbs.
FFXIV Enuo EX Guide

● Vacuum

  • Make it a habit to dodge the AoE on the opposite side of the short line AoE, close to your spread position.
  • SCH: Summon Seraph towards the end.

● Airy / Dense Emptiness

  • Collective Unconscious.
  • Burst window is around here.

● Deep Freeze

  • Keep moving until the debuff drops.
  • Heal with Earthly Star.

● Meteorain

  • Even if HP drops, there is time to heal during the phase transition. There's also time to Res.
  • When the screen changes, Horoscope + Helios Conjunction.
  • SCH: Move the Fairy to the center.

Adds Phase

H1/D3's spot is the second tower/empty space going counter-clockwise from A, but it's overwhelmingly easier to think of it as the first one going clockwise from C.

FFXIV Enuo EX Guide

When you get the red marker, stand between the markers so you don't hit the people in the towers.

Depending on the tower layout, heals might not reach the tank, so just pray the tank survives on their own.

Burst comes up during the adds phase, but save it unless 5 people or more are dead and a wipe is imminent (3 deaths is totally fine to clear). Consider using the melee LB if things look dicey.

Only place Earthly Star at the very beginning, then save it for Phase 2.

When DPS are soaking towers, Tanks and Healers shouldn't get petrified as long as they face the boss near the target ring... probably.

Phase 2

● Lightless World

  • Place Earthly Star, Collective Unconscious, Burst.
  • It's a continuous attack that will shred HP if mitigation is light. If someone has Brink of Death / Weakness, slacking on mitigation might kill them.
  • SCH: Recitation Spread Adlo is safe. Ideally, place Sacred Soil at the very last second of the boss's cast.
  • Healers must suppress the urge to go full "Green DPS" during burst and maintain their humanity (keep healing).

● Almagest

  • Raid-wide damage immediately after the above. Horoscope + Helios Conjunction upon impact.

● Naught Grows

  • ◎ and ◯ appear together as a set. If outer is ◎, get close to the outer edge. If outer is ◯, go to the opposite side and step slightly inside the boss's hitbox.
  • When there are 2 tethers, split left/right based on the arrow pointing outward. Do not use the boss's facing direction as a reference.
  • When outer is ◯ and everyone stacks inside the hitbox, Tanks should step back after the AoE.
  • Heal with Horoscope, Lady of Crowns, or Celestial Opposition.

● Naught Wakes x2

  • If the outer edge has 2x "Baymax faces", go to the center. If there are large orbs on the outer edge, look for the Baymax face and move towards it.
  • Card the MT or use Exaltation (use it on the MT whenever you notice from here on out).
FFXIV Enuo EX Guide
I call it Baymax face

Shrouded Holy (4:4 Stack)

  • If you're already at the outer edge from the previous mechanic, be aware of your spot beforehand.
  • Regardless of the boss's position, it's better to split East/West just outside the target ring so melee can maintain uptime.
  • Earthly Star is enough for healing.

● Naught Grows

  • Same as above.
  • Sometimes it's the exact same pattern as the 1st time. Pure RNG.

● Dimension Zero (3x Stack)

  • Macrocosmos + Horoscope + Helios Conjunction.
  • SCH: Seraph, etc. If your co-healer is dead, use Seraphism without hesitation.
  • Even if you're a solo healer, you can survive if you try hard enough.
  • Tank and DPS defensive buffs are highly appreciated here.

● Vacuum → Meltdown

  • Neutral Sect + Helios Conjunction while waiting.
  • SCH: Recitation Spread Adlo is safe.
  • Waiting on the opposite side of the short line AoE means less movement, but make sure to check where you need to run after the debuff drops. Sprint is highly recommended.

Burst is around here, but note that if you use Divination in the corner, it won't reach the people on the far side.

● Gaze of the Void

  • SCH: Expedient (tough choice whether to use it here or for Meltdown).
  • After popping the 1st orb, heal in the center.

● Almagest

  • Collective Unconscious.

● Naught Wakes → Naught Hunts → Airy / Dense Emptiness

  • Even farm parties sometimes wipe here.
  • If the chaser AoE is getting within one character's distance, Sprint is recommended.
  • If you don't have the tether, watch your party's HP. A quick heal to a struggling teammate can save a life.
  • Similarly, PLD's Clemency or Cover can save lives too.
  • If the Healer needs to LB3, wait until the chaser AoEs have disappeared.
  • After the chasers end, watch the position of the ◯ on the outer edge.
  • Right after checking the outer ◯, there's a shared cone damage on 4 or 2 players, so pay attention.

This repeats for 2 sets.

● Dimension Zero (4x Stack)

  • It hits harder than the 1st time, so healers should try not to die during the previous mechanics.
  • If you used Macrocosmos early on the 1st Dimension Zero, it will be back up. If not, use Neutral Sect.
  • Even as a solo healer, you can sometimes survive this.
  • Tank/DPS mitigation is highly appreciated.

If all goes well, you can clear around here.

From here on, it's repeating mechanics: Almagest → Naught Grows → Naught Wakes → Deep Freeze → Naught Grows → Dimension Zero → Meteor Rain x2 → Almagest → Enrage.

Just wing the healing through sheer willpower here.
