Welcome to our complete walkthrough and achievement guide for Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley.

This guide is designed to help you unlock all achievements smoothly as you progress through the game.

Things to Keep in Mind for 100% Completion

The game takes about 4 to 5 hours to complete.

The controls are simple and the story is easy to follow, making it a highly accessible game even for kids.

Additionally, the PS5 version includes a Platinum Trophy, so it is recommended for trophy hunters as well.

The game uses an autosave feature, meaning if you miss an achievement, you will have to start a new game from the beginning. However, even if you do, achieving 100% completion shouldn't take more than 8 hours in total.

If you are aiming for 100% achievements, keep these golden rules in mind while playing: talk to every character you meet, collect all the inspiration you can find, and play your drum whenever you see a fern.

Opening - Moominhouse

As soon as you gain control of Snufkin, head up to the edge of the cliff and gaze at the sun (Sightseer 1/8).

(You will unlock the Sightseer achievement by viewing 8 specific scenic spots. Usually, simply walking up to them is enough.)

After rescuing Sniff, talk to the spider. Head right to find a butterfly, play a tune for it, and lead it back to the spider → Achievement: Not a Monster.

Move past the spider, and you'll find a bird in a tree on your left. Play a tune for it (Humming with Harmony 1/4).

After leaving the park, the title screen will appear (Sightseer 2/8).

As you progress, your task will be to find 3 lost chicks. Keep heading right until you come across a small pier with a resting spot. Examine it to take a break (Just Gazing 1/4). You can rest for as long as you like.

Once you finish finding the lost chicks and enter the park with the key, tip over the 3 white statues (Push it 1/2).

It's perfectly fine if you get caught by the police guards.

Pulling out all 8 signs will automatically advance the story, so if you are aiming for the achievement, make sure to tip over the white statues first.

After leaving the park, proceed for a bit. Right before crossing the fallen log, look through the gap in the trees to enjoy the view (Sightseer 3/8).

Head to the Moominhouse.

Talk to Moominmamma and Moominpappa, then go to the bridge and speak with Little My.

The Groke - Building the Raft

Follow the ice chunks to the right of Little My.

Talk to the police guard, then head right.

When the Groke starts chasing you, follow the path and run away.

If you're aiming for achievements, make sure you don't get caught by the Groke. It's quite a long chase, so dash actively whenever you are on solid ground where dashing is possible.

You can move the large boulders along the way by pushing them from the side.

Once you reach a dead end, climb the ladder dropped by the hedgehog to proceed.

If you manage to escape without getting caught by the Groke at all, you will unlock the Fast, Not Furious achievement.

Continue the story, and when the fires break out, extinguish all of them → Achievement: Fire Fighter.

Afterwards, you will receive the flute, and your next objective will be to head to the Hattifatteners Island.

Go to the marked location on the map, talk to Too-Ticky, and search for the raft materials.

1. Sailcloth (Cloth)

Head back the way you came, scare the police guard in the park, and take the cloth.

2. Long Stick

Head up from the ghost to meet Little My, then continue further up to find Snork. Climb the cliff behind him and pick up the small stick lying on the right.

Climb the cliff behind that, play a tune for the fish, and grab the dropped Pages of Genius (Pages of Genius 1/17).

Compete with Snork: use your harmonica to let the short sticks pass and block the long sticks to win, and obtain the long stick.

Take a break at the gazing spot across the bridge near Snork (Just Gazing 2/4).

3. Log

Help Moominpappa to get a log.

From Moominpappa's location, head top-left, clear the path with your harmonica, and pick up the Cep mushroom on the left (you will need ingredients for another quest later).

4. Rope

Climb down the cliff and rescue the sea creature to receive the rope.

While you're there, pick up the egg lying further ahead and return it to its nest.


Now that you have all the materials, return to Too-Ticky.

Once the raft is complete, interact with it to set sail for the Hattifatteners Island.

Note that you can only visit the Hattifatteners Island once. If you are going for achievements, make sure you don't leave anything unfinished on the island (talk to all characters, tip over all white statues in the park, and do not miss any of Moominpappa's Pages of Genius).

Hattifatteners Island

Once you arrive on the island, follow the path for a while.

From Moominpappa's boat, head left and talk to the pirate standing above, right before the stairs.

Examine the spyglass on the path ahead.

Keep following the path. When you reach a spot in the river where a log is blocking a barrel, pull the log. Follow the floating barrel, use it as a platform to cross, and grab the Pages of Genius (Pages of Genius 2/17).

Return to the log you just pulled, push it back, cross the river, follow the path, jump across the crocodile's back, and talk to Little My.

Head right and talk to the pirate.

Go to the top-left from the pirate, let the barrel pass, cross the log, and climb the cliff where Little My is to find a resting spot. Relax there (Just Gazing 3/4).

Also, step to the edge of the cliff near the resting spot and gaze at the moon (Sightseer 4/8).

After talking to Little My, pull the log on the bottom right to let the barrels flow, push the log back, and cross the river. Climb down the ladder ahead to find another Pages of Genius (Pages of Genius 3/17).

Pull the next log to let three barrels pass, then use the barrels that gathered on the right side of the pirate as platforms to cross the river.

Talk to Little My just ahead, and continue further to find a plant-collecting Hemulen.

Talk to the Hemulen, then continue and talk to the pirate.

Keep going until you reach a park.

While pulling out the 8 signs, you'll find 7 white statues. Tip all of them over (Push it 2/2) → If you tipped over the 3 statues in the previous park, you will unlock the Push it achievement.

After pulling out all the signs and leaving the park, talk to the Hemulen to receive the drum.

After your conversation with the Hemulen, walk a bit further and talk to the sea creature.

Follow the path for a while. After Little My joins you, go right from the location with a large, heavy boulder.

Drop down the ledges and go as far as you can. Move the rock to cross the river and grab the Pages of Genius (Pages of Genius 4/17).

Find the two creeping bugs to move the large boulder. After passing the boulder, climb the cliff and look at the moon from the bridge (Sightseer 5/8).

Proceed a bit and enter the cave. You will get separated from Little My.

When you exit the cave, look at the moon from the cliff (Sightseer 6/8).

Go a little further and enter the next cave.

While navigating this cave, you'll see a Pages of Genius on the opposite bank. You can't reach it from here, but keep going. You can grab it by climbing down a ladder two areas later (Pages of Genius 5/17).

Proceed further and you will reunite with Little My.

After leaving the cave, examine the shipwreck to obtain the Sail.

Keep going and talk to the beautiful horse.

Climb the stairs on the left, head up, and use your drum to clear the large pile of sand at a dead end to find a mirror. Talk to the beautiful horse and give it to her → Achievement: Beauty For Beauty.

Approach Moominpappa's boat and the sail will automatically be attached.

Before interacting with the boat, walk past it, head up, and grab the Pages of Genius hidden under the sand (Pages of Genius 6/17).

Interact with the boat to return to Moominvalley.

Side Quests and Collectibles

Work on the side quests while collecting items and completing requirements for achievements.

If you just want to finish the story, head straight to the Park Keeper.

Retrieving Ninny's Clothes

Take the path going up from the right of Too-Ticky, move the rock, and talk to the Invisible Child (Ninny) three times.

Pick up the Seaweed on the rock to the top-left of Ninny's location.

Head to the spot marked on the map, retrieve 3 pieces of clothing from Stinky, and return to Ninny to give her clothes back → Achievement: Garment Grabber.

(If you think Stinky is stuck and the quest isn't progressing, check the ground to see if a ribbon, dress, or boot has been dropped.)

★ There are many ferns around Stinky's area, and they react to the drum. If you want the Fern Inferno achievement, you need to play your drum for 50 ferns. Be sure to hit your drum whenever you see them while exploring.

Climb a tree on the path you chased Stinky through, and play your harmonica to the bird (Humming with Harmony 2/4).

Head down from Stinky's location, and go left to find a woodpecker in a tree. Play your drum for it (Wooden Symphony 1/3).

Rescuing Sniff

Go right from Too-Ticky, and cross the log located down-right from the sign with a bird on it (to the left of the ghost).

Head left from the log and pick up the Cep.

Return to the log, go down, and turn left to find another woodpecker. Play your drum (Wooden Symphony 2/3).

Keep going left to reach the upper path, proceed left, drop down the ledges, and head to the beach to find Sniff.

Grab the Pages of Genius to the bottom-left of Sniff (Pages of Genius 7/17).

Talk to Sniff and enter the cave.

Navigate through the cave. After playing your flute for the crabs, head left at the fork in the next area to view the sea (Sightseer 7/8).

Go back and take the right path to find Cedric. Successfully rescuing Cedric at the treasure spot → Achievement: To the Rescue.

You will obtain a Hemulen toy upon leaving the cave.

Climb down the ladder to find Seaweed on the bottom-left.

Cross the log to find a Pages of Genius on the rock below (Pages of Genius 8/17).

Cross the other log and clear the sand on the beach with your drum to uncover another Pages of Genius (Pages of Genius 9/17).

Helping the Muskrat

Go to the ghost's location, head right, and play your harmonica for the bird in the tree at the dead end (Humming with Harmony 3/4).

Walking through the flowers near the beehive will spawn bees. Put them to sleep with your flute (there are two such spots).

Nearby, walk through the bush to the left of the Muskrat to spawn a bee. Play your harmonica to guide it back to its hive (Keepers of the Bee 1/3).

Talk to the Muskrat to start gathering ingredients for him.

Cross the platforms going up from the ghost. Proceed upwards to find a woodpecker and play your drum (Wooden Symphony 3/3) → Achievement: Wooden Symphony.

Go down-right from the woodpecker, clear the sand with your harmonica, and pick up the Chanterelle among the dense ferns.

Find a Pages of Genius in the fern bushes just below the Chanterelle (Pages of Genius 10/17).

From there, go right, climb the tree, scare away the crow, and grab Snork Maiden's anklet.

Head up-left from the tree, climb the cliff, follow the path, and pick up the Nettle before the bridge.

Cross the bridge, climb down the ladder, and grab the Pages of Genius on the right (Pages of Genius 11/17).

Return to the ghost's location, go through the gate, head right, and clear the sand with your harmonica to find a Cep and a Chanterelle.

Go left from the Chanterelle to find a Pages of Genius (Pages of Genius 12/17).

If you've reached level 6, clear the sand pile to the right of Too-Ticky's location using your drum to pick up Seaweed.

Once you have gathered all the ingredients, give them to the Muskrat.

  • 1st Request: Chanterelle x2, Cep
  • 2nd Request: Nettle, Cep x2
  • 3rd Request: Seaweed x3

Handing over all the ingredients will maximize your stamina → Achievement: Run to the Hills.

Hemulen, Toffle, Snork Maiden, and Little My

Jump across the rocks to the bottom-right of the Muskrat, head right, and talk to the bug-catching Hemulen.

Cross the bridge above him, walk through the flower field to find 3 butterflies, and guide them back to the Hemulen.

There are also 3 bees hiding in the flower field. Play your flute if they appear.

Climb the tree on the left side of the flower field to talk to Toffle and rescue him.

Go to the theater above the flower field and pick up the Pages of Genius on the stage (Pages of Genius 13/17).


Climb down the cliff to the bottom-right of the bug-catching Hemulen and talk to the painter Hemulen.

Gather water from 3 locations.

Talk to the spider you encounter along the way.

Once you gather the water, give it to the Hemulen → Achievement: Artist Assistance.

He will reward you with a Pages of Genius (Pages of Genius 14/17).


Climb the cliff to the right of the spider, head right until you spot a ladder, climb it, and talk to Snork Maiden.

Talk to her again and hand over the anklet to receive a Pages of Genius (Pages of Genius 15/17).

Head up-left from Snork Maiden. Take the top-right path along the way to find a resting spot and take a break (Just Gazing 4/4) → Achievement: Just Gazing.

Head right from Snork Maiden and climb the slope to find a Pages of Genius (Pages of Genius 16/17).

Drop down the cliff to its bottom-right, cross the log, and examine the well to trigger Little My's appearance → Achievement: Deep Down.

Give her the Hemulen toy to receive the final Pages of Genius (Pages of Genius 17/17) → Achievement: Pages of Genius.

Examine the well again to drop Little My back down.

Find a bee in the bushes to the bottom-right of the well and lead it to the hive (Keepers of the Bee 2/3).

Meeting the Park Keeper - The Ending

Head to the map marker, and talk to the Park Keeper, Moomin, and the Park Keeper's cousin to advance the story.

In the area with the Park Keeper, clear all leaf piles and hit all the drum-reactive trees to wreak havoc on the garden for the Wreaking Havoc achievement.

Go to the theater to start preparations for the play.

Practice with the band at the theater.

Deliver the invitations. (Any order is fine, but Bug-catching Hemulen → Snork → Too-Ticky → Park Keeper → Police guard is the most efficient route.)

Once you give the invitation to the police guard and the path opens, head through the park towards the Fillyjonk's house.

Pull out the 5 signs in the park.

Right after that, you will find a beehive to the top-right. Keep heading right for a while to find a bee in a bush, and guide it back to the hive (Keepers of the Bee 3/3) → Achievement: Keepers of the Bee.

Continue right, take the upward path when you see it, climb the tree, and play for the bird (Humming with Harmony 4/4) → Achievement: Humming with Harmony.

You might hit Level 8 around here. Reaching the maximum inspiration level unlocks the Bursting with Inspiration achievement.

Take in the final view on the way to the Fillyjonk's house (Sightseer 8/8) → Achievement: Sightseer.

In the Fillyjonk's yard, clear the leaf piles, push the pots to destroy her plants, walk through the hanging laundry to dirty it, and knock over the potted plant on the hill → Achievement: Appetite for destruction.

The Fillyjonk is the final character to appear in the game. If you have spoken to everyone, you will unlock the Conversationalist achievement here.

After acquiring the costumes, return to the theater.

Head to the Park Keeper's house, get the key, and rescue Moomin.

After rescuing Moomin, choose "Climb the fence" to proceed to the end of the game.

Once you clear the game, selecting "Continue" will resume your game from this exact point.
